Many years later we can laugh that he almost cost us our relationship. Laker has been and even at seven will probably always be a handful. He loves to greet company with a jump. He can sing or howl – - which sounds like we are torturing a small human (promise we are not). He is very curious. We should have named him George. He enjoys sunbathing in any sunlight he can find. He really really really either wants to be friends with the neighborhood cat he sees out the door or just to eat him. He also had cancer and still battles a form of it so we know we are lucky to reach seven years with him. Today we sang happy birthday and gave him a slice of doggie cake. I don’t know if he understood what was going on, but I would like to pretend he really enjoyed it. Happy birthday buddy.

But anyways…I’m not sure a lot of people are familiar with a new location that just popped up on the radar. It’s called The Ivy Place located about ten minutes outside of Ballentyne in Lancaster, SC. Let me just say, it’s a DREAM location to shoot. The sunshine, the farmhouses, the fields…You could shoot every weekend and have a different background on these 33 acres. SO PRETTY. Oh and the owners? Forget-about-it. They treat you like family. As you can tell, I’m in love with The Ivy Place. But enough with the words, how about some pictures, right?

Okay, before we continue, when this shoot was set up, I had one requirement; I had to get pictures in front of a car they had at The Ivy Place. It’s like someone years ago knew that photogs would be shooting at this location and placed the most coolest antique car ever. in a field folks. In a freaking field!

See what I mean? Okay, maybe I’m alone on this one, but what’s not to love about this classic car? And this couple in front of it? The BEST.

The following Pugs are another example of why I love getting to photograph this breed. They are playful, loving and always kind (and at times, give plenty of licks). I’d like to introduce you guys to Walter and Claire.

But wait! There is more Pug goodness. Here’s Walter. He was found walking down the side of the street. His current lovely foster mom is actually trying to find this sweet boy a home – - any takers?

Just try and say no…

Oh and there’s Claire. Her little name totally fits her personality. She is such a sweetheart and talks(barks) a ton like she’s trying to tell you a story.

And for her mama, a few Claire parts. {always a favorite of mine to shoot}

I have to say, it’s always fun to spend a morning surrounded by Pugs. It’s never a dull moment, that’s for sure. Thanks so much Heide for letting me come over to play, I mean photograph your awesome Pugs. Crossing paws that Walter can find a new home soon.

Lesson of the day: here’s what not to do (see left image – where you pretend to be the Hulk) and what to do (see image on the right – just another engineer) when getting your head shot for your company site. P.S. Yes, I keep outtakes and love that you have a sense of humor when I said I would post these images.

Let’s begin with Whitney.

Those images were taken in the main room of The Morehead Inn. Her dress is totally fun and flirty. Check out some of the dress detail:

Our next model was Olivia. Again, stunning bride and amazing dress.

And her hair? LOVE the side braid. Totally all the trend these days.

Our last model, Jill was just so pretty and I have to say, her dress was my favorite. It reminded me of Madonna in her video, Material Girl with that gorgeous bow {I think I just dated myself being a kid of the 80′s}. It’s actually a two piece dress but totally adorable.

We also got the chance to photograph Jill outside on the property of The Morehead Inn. I absolutely love myself some outdoor natural lighting.
