Dana Mackay Photography started due to my background in photojournalism. In high school I started learning the basics with a home-made camera from an oatmeal container and then gifted a camera to shoot for my youth group. In college I was found behind the camera capturing corporate events, the Spoleto festival in Charleston, SC, and the circus for the University of South Carolina college paper. My favorite times was spent in the darkroom loading film or printing images. That passion for capturing moments and events pushed me to open my business in Charlotte, NC. Dana Mackay Photography is a member of PPA {Professional Photographers of America}.
Things to know about me: My name is never said correctly and should come with some sort of spelling key {it’s pronounced Donna}. I have two dogs {Yorkie and rescue Boxer} that I love to torture with my camera. My two year old daughter makes me smile no matter what kind of day I’m having. I got married at a destination wedding in St. Lucia to a guy I’m so lucky to call mine. Coffee is my bestie. Cupcakes are my frenamy. Traveling is something I adore doing. Spell check and I need to be better friends.
